“And I’m gonna pray, Pray, maybe I’ll pray
Pray for a glimmer of hope, maybe I’ll pray.
Won’t you call me? Can we have a one-on-one please?
Let’s talk about freedom. Everyone prays in the end.
Everyone prays in the end.” “Pray” Sam Smith
I pray. I pray every morning. I have prayed every morning while doing my hour walk, as the start to my day, since I was in my twenties. And it is not the repeating of old worn out religious prayers, the ones we recited over and over, from a very early age, without really understanding what we were saying. It is more of communication, my time to talk, to have a conversation with the divine or source or the great beyond, the force or whatever you wish to call it. It really doesn’t matter. It is a conversation where I pray for everyone and everything. Where I thank the powers that be that I woke up this morning, that I am able to walk on my own, that I have a roof over my head, a used car that is safe and doesn’t drive for me and work that feeds my soul. It is where I ask to let go of my ego, to be softer, no judgements, no expectations, and kind, to be in service to wherever and whatever needs to be done, to help me be better than the best person I can be and to please not give up on me. I promise, at some point I will get it.
Prayer is for everyone, all inclusive. It does not preclude or exclude anyone, not for who and what you believe or don’t, who you follow or don’t, where you live, what you do. It is a conversation, an intimate and confidential one, for both saints and sinners, in which you get to say whatever you want, ask for whatever you want and be your true unabashed self. Just be careful what you are asking……. That’s all I’m gonna say!
Some people really don’t think of prayer outside of the holy dwelling they visit and this weeks’ bulletin and some don’t believe in it at all. I do. I believe that prayer has both potential and power. Why? Because I have experienced it more times than I can actually and easily fill 1000 pages of testimony. Because when it comes to the hardest or most horrific event, people that would never think to do so, pray. And most, on their deathbed will pray or ask for someone to pray with them because ultimately they know, they will soon be in that higher truth.
If you understand physics and the laws of nature and the universe, it is well known that everything organic is energy. And energy is never extinguished. Once expressed, it has to go somewhere. Thoughts and ideas are expressed in words, in writing, in film, music and media, all energy expressed into other forms, but still energy in its own right. And because we are organic, we are filled with energy that is expressed and expelled in a myriad of actions, words, events. And so is prayer. And even more so when it is expressed as a collective, sharing the same intent.
And so, whether you believe or not, please accept this as your personal invitation, starting today and every day forward, to pray with me. It does not matter when or how many times, how long or where you are. Time is relative. However if you wish to join me, anytime between 8 and 9:30AM EST is the window. Pray for 10 seconds, 30 seconds, 1 minute, 5 minutes if you can. Whatever time you give is another surge in the energy force and is very much appreciated. And what I am asking you to pray for, to put forward as your intent, is for our sisters and brothers in the Ukraine facing the odds that have been put upon them, for Eastern Europe and for all of the world to support the highest good.
Much Gratitude and Appreciation to each and every one. I’m praying for you……
Thank you.
