A Star

“In the velvet darkness, Of the blackest night

Burning bright, There's a guiding star

No matter what or who, who you are

There's a light, (Over at the Frankenstein place)

There's a light, (Burning in the fireplace)

There's a light, light In the darkness of everybody's life

The darkness must go down the river of night's dreaming

Flow morphia slow, let the sun and light come streaming

Into my life, Into my life…”

Rocky Horror Picture Show

There is always something that guides us, directs us, assists us when we are lost, are not sure of ourselves or just need acknowledgement, a nod that we are heading in the right direction; some reference this as their “North Star”; an internal compass to show the way. In my experience of loss and then lost in my path of life, I have always intuitively looked upwards, into the sky, looking, asking, hoping for guidance, a sign, my North Star to guide me.

Although we all have our own personal challenges, this particular year we were brought together in an elevated challenge that we shared with the entire world. No one was left out, no one wasn’t assigned a role to play, not one of us wasn't picked to participate in some way, shape or form. And although I do not think anyone would have selected the current circumstance of a pandemic, voluntarily, as a way to reconnect with our fellow humans, it did result in bringing us out of our own individual personal sphere and showed us that there is something much larger, greater, more at risk than it’s individual parts, maybe something that we have forgotten or lost over the years for lack of a real global threat. With Christmas looming before us, it has brought back that sense of a need for goodwill towards all, that we truly are all connected, part of the larger picture and a wish for that magic of the season we have come to look forward to, expect, that has gone missing all of these months and for those of us that have personally gone missing as well; losing our North Star.

With the whole world now united in full consciousness, awakened by a stealth enemy, we will receive a gift, a sign from above, that guidance and reassurance that we have all been wishing for, hoping for, praying for; the North Star. In a celestial event that has been interpreted as possibly the source of the Star of Bethlehem, or the North Star as it is also referred to, the two largest planets in our solar system, Jupiter and Saturn, will conjunct or begin to come together over this week and appear as one in the southwest sky after sunset on December 21st. A rare universal occurrence that has not been seen in over 800 years. Perhaps it is letting us see how we have also been moving over this past year to come together, connect and align to a higher purpose, a greater good.

As the reference to the Star of Bethlehem, which guided the three wise men, kings, to that manger in Bethlehem and the sign of a saviour come to the world, is it coincidence that when the entire world has lost it’s way, or for the most part has gone it’s own way, that this event, happening at this particular time, will bring the Star of Bethlehem, shining brightly in the evening sky to give us a new hope, lighting our way and on the eve of the Winter Solstice.

I admit that there were many times that I had lost my way, lost myself, but through a series of events or what I refer to as divine intervention or answers to my daily prayers, I was pulled back to my path, my truth. And on December 21st, as the sun sets, I will look up to the sky as I do when looking for answers, to find the North Star and know that I am right where I am supposed to be and that I am going forward to where I need to go and hopefully, so are we all, together. So on the day leading up to this Winter Solstice and Christmas, no matter what you believe or the holiday you celebrate in this time, there is a sign of hope and light and good things to come for all the world to receive, to witness; a beautiful celestial gift. I hope you receive the rare and beautiful gift that it is and allow it to bring you “home”.

I wish you all the wonder, the magic and the blessings of this season and into the new year. That your “North Star” continues to shine bright and light your path, our path as divine human beings, together moving forward to a better world, a kinder world, a loving world for everyone.

“Do you see what I see

A star, a star

Dancing in the night

With a tail as big as a kite…..”
