No Words

Karen Frances

What seems like a lifetime ago, I was in England on a business trip and a colleague and I decided to go to Amsterdam for the weekend. I remember quite vividly standing on the platform, waiting for a train, when an incident occurred with another individual which caused my dear Cecilia and I enormous incredulousness and anger. As we looked at each other, sharing in that moment, she uttered in anguish, “No words, I have no words….”

And now I have “no words”. No words for what has unfolded, in this time, where the world bore witness to the worst of humanity, when George Floyd died under the knee of another human being who had no regard for his life and the plea he made for it. My heart is bleeding for him, for his family, for all of us here and everywhere, and for all those who have suffered a similar fate before this.

If there is one thing that the Divine expects, it is for each and every one of us to do our duty. And that duty is to each other; to love one another, help one another, respect one another. To do everything in our power to uphold each other. This morning in our Zoom service we were asked, “What if there was no God, no Gods? What if it was only us?”

I am dedicating today to all of my sisters and brothers who are angry and hurting, who see no end or no way out, who have “no words” but choose to lash out. There is a God and there are choices. And there are all of us, a great majority, that stand as a part of you, leaning up against you so neither one of us falls. We do not subscribe to crimes against any of us, for any reason. We stand in the name of divine justice for all of humanity. We are Warriors of the Light.

So in November, when it is your duty to answer a call to action, please show up and make your voice heard and together we can and will remove the powers of hate, lies and inhumanity so that we can begin to honestly and truthfully heal. In November, choose to remove the dark mark from our white house. Choose light.
